Support South Korean activists

Socialist Worker recently reported on the demonstrations in South Korea against US beef imports. The huge protests have continued, showing great militancy and enthusiasm.
But the country's right wing government, facing growing unpopularity, has turned to repressive measures against the movement.
Warrants for the arrest of several of the organisers of the protests have been issued, charging them with organising "illegal" demonstrations.
Some activists have taken refuge in one of the largest Buddhist temples in Seoul, the South Korean capital. There are police outside waiting to seize them if they leave the temple.
Earlier this month I attended the Marxism event in Seoul, organised by the socialist group All Together, which has played a very active role in the protests.
At the opening rally a video link was established with the temple, and three of those avoiding arrest spoke to a packed meeting of several hundred activists.
Later some of us were fortunate enough to be able to visit those in the temple. I was struck by their great courage and cheerfulness. They deserve the solidarity of socialists in Britain and all round the world.
