Support is growing for a lobby of the TUC conference next month called by the National Shop Stewards Network (NSSN).
The NSSN are demanding the TUC organise a national demonstration against government cuts.
Activists report that the London region of the FBU union is helping sponsor a coach and is encouraging members to attend.
Latest transport includes coaches from Brighton, Coventry and Bristol.
The NSSN says, “The coalition government is driving a juggernaut over workers’ lives. With each vicious attack on living standards, workers ask what our trade unions are going to do about these threats.
“Unfortunately so far the TUC general council has been ominously quiet. We cannot wait any longer. We need a national demonstration to kick-start a mass campaign.”
Lobby of the TUC, 12 noon, 12 September, Manchester Central Convention Complex
NSSN fringe meeting, 5.30pm, 15 September, Friends Meeting House, Mount Street, Manchester
