Fire and rescue workers ballot
by Tony Phillips, Unison LFEPA branch secretary (pc)Some 800 fire and rescue staff in London began a ballot for strike last week.
The workers, members of the Unison and GMB unions, are fighting drastically worse redundancy payments.
The ballot ends on 25 January. If it comes back yes, escalating, hard-hitting action should be announced at once.
