Some 500,000 construction workers have won a pay increase following negotiations between the Ucatt, Unite and GMB unions and the Construction Industry Joint Council (CIJC).
Workers will be awarded a below-inflation increase of 1.5 percent from Monday 5 September and a fare and subsistence allowances increase of 5.3 percent from Monday 27 June.
Talks on a deal to address low basic rates of pay for construction workers will begin in early 2012.
