London firefighters could strike over a “relentless” raft of attacks on terms and conditions, their FBU union says.
The FBU is holding meetings across the capital—and says there is overwhelming support for action, including strikes.
Bosses have attacked the rota system and regularly imposed working practices that haven’t been agreed with the union.
Proposed sickness rules would mean firefighters being made to pay, either in wages or leave, for being sick. They could also face disciplinary action if they don’t meet sickness targets.
Bosses also want to privatise firefighter training.
