The British Medical Association (BMA) doctors’ union voted at its annual conference in Bournemouth to coordinate any further action over pensions with other unions.
Delegates also delivered a resounding vote of no confidence in the health secretary Andrew Lansley and called for him to resign.
A motion was also passed calling for the health and social care act to be repealed.
