Supporters of Talha Ahsan, who is fighting extradition to the US, plan an evening of video and poetry in London next Thursday evening .
On that date Talha will have been held without a trial in Britain for six years. He is fighting attempts to extradite him to the US on charges of supporting terrorism.
Talha’s brother Hamja told Socialist Worker, “We urgently need people to write to the director of public prosecutions and get their MP to support Early Day Motion 128. That supports everyone fighting extradition under this law. Our appeal goes in this week.
“Talha has never been to the US. He is accused over a website he ran here, but our government has never threatened him with trial.”
The Free Talha campaign is uniting with campaigns for others threatened under the same law, including Babar Ahmad, Gary McKinnon and Richard O’Dwyer.
