The Syrian regime has brutally cracked down—but as Adi Atassi’s article shows, the spirit and resolve of the revolution remains unbroken.
Some argue that the West should send in military forces, to “help” the revolt. But Western powers have a very different agenda from ordinary Syrians. They have brought bloodshed and misery to the Middle East to further their own interests.
Others say we need the UN to come in and broker “peace” and power-sharing. Instead, socialists should look to the Syrian masses.
They are determined to topple the regime, and we stand in solidarity with them. That means doing everything we can to keep the West away from their revolt.
