Workers at Paragon printing company in Sunderland suspended a planned 58 hour strike this week for talks. The action was due to start on Tuesday evening.
The 35 workers are members of the Unite union. They have already held several 24-hour strikes against changes to shift and overtime payments.
Around 50 people gathered in Bute Park, Cardiff, on Thursday of last week. They were protesting after reported calls from the Cardiff Retail Partnership to “lock up the homeless” during the Olympics.
A retailer’s son apologised for offence caused by “misreported” remarks. Further events are planned.

Activists opposed to George Osborne’s attempt to undermine the forthcoming Climate Act protested outside the Treasury in central London on Thursday of last week.
Osborne is trying to block targets for reducing carbon emissions and cut subsidies to wind farms. The Campaign Against Climate Change supported the protest.
The Durham Miners’ Association has set up a committee and a bank account to transfer solidarity donations to the striking miners in northern Spain.
Miners have been striking for two months against cuts that would bring closures and massive job losses.
