Workers at central London’s National Gallery struck for two hours on both Friday and Saturday of last week.
The PCS union members struck from 1-3pm on Friday and 4-6pm on Saturday. They say that staff cuts are making it impossible to do their jobs properly, putting both the art and the visitors at risk.
Before the cuts there was always one assistant per room, but this is no longer the case. The gallery said around 35 rooms were closed by the strike.
