Some 16 workers at specialist publishing company Gomer Press struck for half a day on Wednesday of last week. The plant is in Llandysul in Ceredigion, west Wales.
The workers, who are members of the Unite union, plan a further two half day strikes followed by nine one day strikes over the next 11 Wednesdays.
They are opposing a 2 percent pay rise which is below the rate of inflation. This means that workers’ living standards will fall as a result as prices of basic items like food and housing costs rise. They are also striking against the bosses’ imposition of the the deal without negotiation.
