Cops sexually assault victims

The police watchdog has found that a victim of crime is sexually assaulted by a police officer every two weeks.

The Independent Police Complaints Commission has warned the true figure could be higher. The report found that some offenders were still working as police officers.

Abortion judge links revealed

A judge who sentenced a woman to eight years in prison after she took drugs to provoke a miscarriage has been found to have links to an anti-abortion charity.

Jeremy Cooke is a member of the Lawyers’ Christian Fellowship which has campaigned for harsher abortion laws.

Riots in Apple factory

As thousands queued in Britain for the new iPhone 5 last weekend around 2,000 workers rioted at Foxconn’s giant factory in Taiyuan, China.

Workers there make Apple products. The riot was in response to bosses beating workers.

Fighting for GCSE justice

Over 100 schools and more than 30 local authorities have signed a letter threatening legal action over the GCSE grading fiasco.

Some GCSEs were marked down in June after exam regulator Ofqual instructed one exam board to tackle “grade inflation”.
