College lecturers vote for strikes

Lecturers at Barnfield College, Bedfordshire, have voted by 90 percent for strikes in a row over contracts.

The UCU union members say new contracts would increase teaching hours while making some workers redundant.

Union members at K College in Kent are also balloting for strikes to oppose compulsory redundancies.

College management want to cut 145 jobs. The ballot ends on Friday of this week.
