More than 100 workers at the Barry Callebaut chocolate factory in Banbury, Oxfordshire, have won a better pay increase after two 24-hour strikes.
The workers are members of the Unite union. They had planned to strike on Friday of last week and Monday of this week against a paltry 1.5 percent pay rise.
But the action was called off after a new offer of 2.6 percent. The firm’s top director took home a 79 percent pay rise in 2011.

The Kirklees Campaign Against Climate Change organised a vigil to mark the melting of Arctic sea ice.
Over 60 campaigners joined the vigil in St George’s Square in Huddersfield last Friday, with a large banner and candles as it grew dark.
The disappearance of the ice will hasten global warming as the sea absorbs more of the sun’s heat than ice does.

British airways bosses are continuing to outsource what were previously core airline functions.
