Success of Barrow Remember The Holocaust event

by Barrow Unite Against Fascism
Issue No. 2030

Over 100 people came to the “Remember The Holocaust-Stop The Fascist BNP” event in Barrow on Wednesday of last week. The night featured a showing of the film Arek, which tells the story of Holocaust survivor Arek Hersh’s experiences.

Arek Hersh was himself due to speak and, although he had to pull out on the day due to family illness, people experienced a fantastic anti-fascist event.

There were speakers from the Unison union and Unite Against Fascism. The makers of the film are keen to work with Unite Against Fascism and others to put on anti-BNP events with a showing of Arek.

For more details, contact Nigel Flanagan of Unison on n.flanagan@unison.co.uk or Paul Jenkins of Barrow Unite on pauljenkinsua@tiscali.co.uk

The meeting was organised by Unite Against Fascism, Unison and Furness Multicultural Forum.
