Conference decisions

Issue No. 2033

Important decisions about the future policies of the SWP were taken at the conference. Delegates voted on resolutions about building the party, the anti-war movement, Respect, fighting fascism, and many other issues.

The conference elected an enlarged 15-strong central committee leadership and 50 members of the national committee. Delegates voted to end the policy of providing SR magazine as a supplement with Socialist Worker. It will become a standalone publication.

Conference voted to change the reference in the SWP’s Where We Stand on fighting for gay and lesbian rights to include “bisexual and transgender people”.
