Unison branch secretary Tony Staunton wins support

Issue No. 2034

This month’s meeting of the South West regional council of the Unison union took place last Saturday.

In a very positive start to the campaign to support Plymouth branch secretary Tony Staunton – who is currently suspended by the union – over half of the delegates to council signed a petition to defend him and many took petitions away.

Despite being prevented from attending the meeting, Tony Staunton was mentioned 17 times.

A United Left meeting discussed the national executive elections and agreed to campaign for the nomination of Tony Staunton and Chrissie Gardner across the region.
