Preston Respect needs your help on 28 January

Issue No. 2034

Respect is encouraging supporters from across north west England to come to Preston on Sunday 28 January to campaign for May’s council elections.

Respect councillor Michael Lavalette is standing for re-election. He told Socialist Worker, “We are planning to leaflet the four wards that we are targeting in Preston. This election is a crucial chance to show that Respect is a serious and growing force and that Respect councillors make a real difference.

“We have worked with activists across the north west opposing the war and Islamophobia, demonstrating against Condoleezza Rice’s visit and challenging New Labour’s attacks. We will be delighted to welcome supporters from across the region to Preston to help with our campaign.”

Meet at Preston Town Hall, Lancaster Road, 2pm, Sunday 28 January. Phone 07852 937 248 or 07739 729 214.
