Talks between management and the Unison union at Manchester’s mental health and social care trust over a proposed package of cuts were to continue this week.
The talks follow recent strikes by workers. Bosses have said that they can not guarantee that there will be no compulsory redundancies.
There are also indications that teams of staff could be put out to tender in the future and that private firms could run services provided by staff at the trust.
The north west region of Unison must sanction the further strike action demanded by the local branch, should the talks break down.
