Trade unionists get organised

Issue No. 2040

Organising For Fighting Unions (OFFU) will hold a major rally in London on 1 May – the same day that a quarter of a million civil service workers in the PCS union are likely to strike.

Speakers will include PCS general secretary Mark Serwotka.

The rally will come after a series of regional meetings in Sheffield, Birmingham, Manchester and Bristol that are attracting broad union support.

Activists involved in OFFU have been campaigning in favour of the Trade Union Freedom Bill, which would remove some of the worst aspects of the anti-union laws.

This week the bill was timetabled for discussion in parliament but, because other bills preceed it, there was no certainty it would be discussed.

The fight against the anti-union laws continues.
