Roger King stands as NUT vice president for Socialist Teachers Alliance

The Socialist Teachers Alliance (STA) is backing Roger King as candidate for the upcoming elections for vice president of the NUT teachers’ union. Roger is a leading activist in the NUT.

He chaired this year’s black workers’ TUC conference.

The STA has an agreement with the Campaign for a Democratic and Fighting Union group to support Gill Goodswen for the other vice presdent position.

Unfortunately, the Socialist Party, who are in the STA, have chosen to stand Martin Powell Davies after failing to win the support of the STA.

NUT branches should nominate Roger and Gill.

There are two crucial dates for education activists to put into their diaries:

  • Tuesday 12 June: 12.30-4.30pm.
    Committee of Enquiry into academies and trust schools, Houses of Parliament, London.
  • Saturday 16 June:
