Community psychiatric nurses in Manchester are furious to hear that they are to be downgraded.

Nurses had won a higher grade after threatening non-cooperation with a planned reorganisation.

Now they have been told that the 'modern' NHS cannot afford to pay this. As one nurse said, 'Blair says billions are there for the NHS, but we can't see it. All we can see is the £1 million bombs raining on Afghanistan.'
