Print workers at John McCormick's printers in Glasgow have won a victory. The management backed down after the 13 GMPU print union members had agreed to escalate their action from one to two-day strikes.

The workers were due to take two days strike action on Wednesday of this week as part of their official strike action. They had been boosted last week when comedian and campaigner Mark Thomas visited their picket line in solidarity.

Now the bosses have agreed to concede the workers' demand for a 3.5 percent pay rise backdated to July without strings. The workers are celebrating a victory, and the message is that action gets results.
