Workers in the Unite union at Coca Cola Enterprises in Wakefield – the company’s largest bottling and distribution centre – are to strike for 48 hour strikes on Thursday and and Friday of this week and 13 and 14 August.
The workers began a continuous overtime ban on Monday in the battle over pay. Some 82 percent of the workers voted for strike action.
Unite regional officer Kelvin Mawer said, “It’s unacceptable that one of the world’s most famous brands is offering workers a pay cut this year for their hard work.”
Workers in the GMB at Coca Cola in Milton Keynes are also set to strike on Friday.
