Greenwich Unison members lobbying the council

Dozens of Unison union members lobbied Greenwich council in south London last week against attacks on their working conditions and wages caused by single status proposals.

The protest was also against the council’s lack of action over the issue of bullying at work.

A postal worker spoke at the lobby and was well received.

He thanked Unison members for the support they had shown the postal workers in thier fight. The Unison branch agreed to make a donation and a Unison steward had taken a petition with over 60 signatures to the post workers’ picket line.

The postal worker said that it was vital that all unions stuck together in order to get fair wage rises and to defend services.
