Deportations

Issue No. 1671

ZUBER LATIF from India has won his battle against deportation. He has lived in Britain for 12 years and is married to a British citizen. The Home Office had claimed that their marriage was 'ill timed' and was not grounds for Zuber staying in Britain, despite the fact that the couple had a child.

THE NATIONAL Coalition of Anti-Deportation Campaigns is asking people to send letters calling on South Cambridgeshire District Council to refuse planning permission for a new detention centre for asylum seekers. The Home Office wants to convert the Oakington army barracks near Cambridge into a detention centre.

For model letters and resolutions phone 0121 554 6947 or fax 0870 055 4570.
