Thousands of Post Office counters workers in the big high street post offices went on strike on Friday of last week, and Monday of this week.
In the latest walkout to hit the postal service, 5,500 members employed at 465 crown post offices took action against plans to close 70 crown Post Office branches and transfer services to WH Smith.
CWU reps agreed to meet management on Tuesday in a fresh bid to resolve the dispute before the next action which is planned for Wednesday of this week.
The CWU says, “Post Office Limited are unwilling to scrap their plans for a pay freeze and a pay cut for 80 percent of staff.
“Workers are also having to endure a mass cull of crown post offices across Britain accumulating to the loss of up to 1,500 jobs.”
