Workers at the Fremantle residential and daycare company in Barnet, north London, took their campaign to the bosses’ headquarters during a strike on Thursday of last week.

The strikers, along with 80 year old service user Daphne Israel, protested outside Fremantle’s headquarters in Buckinghamshire during their fourth day of strike action.

Almost 200 workers, who are members of the Unison union, are striking after they were told that their contracts would be rewritten, leading to wage cuts of up to 30 percent.

They are former council staff who were transferred under Tupe regulations, which are intended to protect conditions. Fremantle has sacked Unison rep Andrew Rogers. The workers are winning support across the unions and continuing the fight.
