Civil servants' consultative ballot extended

Issue No. 2074

The consultative ballot of over 250,000 members of the PCS civil service workers’ union has been extended to Wednesday of next week due to the impact of the recent postal strike.

The union is asking its members whether they will be willing to take more action over job cuts, low pay and privatisation. Workers have already struck twice this year over the attacks.

The union’s national executive is set to meet on 1 November to discuss the next step after the ballot result.
