Over 100 workers held a lobby at the Department for Work and Pensions office in London on Tuesday of this week.
The workers, members of the GMB and Unite unions, were protesting at government plans to close 42 Remploy sites, which would mean the loss of 2,500 jobs.
Workers came from all over the country to attend the lobby. It was clear that factory closures will not be tolerated.
Peter Hain, the Work and Pensions secretary, is due to make an announcement this week on the future of the factories.
