Organising for Fighting Unions in Preston

Issue No. 2080

Preston Respect members were central to organising a successful meeting of Preston Fighting Unions last week.

The meeting brought together many local trade unionists – including branch and area reps from the PCS, CWU, NUT, Unison, and FBU unions, to discuss united campaigns such as building support for victimised nurse Karen Reissmann.

Respect councillor Michael Lavalette has launched a video blog which highlights the work of Respect and will raise local, national and international issues. To see the blog go to » www.prestonrespect.org

Supporters of Respect from around the country are being asked to go to Preston on Sunday 9 November to help leaflet the Tolketh ward where a by-election will be held in the new year. Meet 1pm at Preston town hall.
