Brighton & Hove traffic wardens plan strike

by Rob Macey, GMB
Issue No. 2080

Traffic wardens and support staff at NCP in Brighton & Hove voted against management’s Scrooge-like decision to cancel their Christmas bonus and party.

In a consultative ballot the workers, members of the GMB union, voted by 83 percent in favour of strike.

Rachel Lyons, GMB organiser said, “This is the worst Christmas present NCP could give to its staff. For a company that made over £235 million from asset stripping NCP to claim they cannot afford a Christmas bonus is ludicrous.

“We will stand firm on this issue, and I would urge the company to do the right thing and reinstate what they have taken away.’’
