Ed Hill is a Bristol based activist who visited Palestine in 2005 and 2006 for the olive harvest as part of the Zaytoun collective, which imports and sells fair trade Palestinian olive oil.
During the trip he recorded the daily lives of Palestinians – struggling under Israeli occupation – on a video camera, which he has now edited into a short documentary film.
Return To Palestine is set in the town of Marda and bears witness to the effects on Palestinians of Israel’s apartheid wall.
“I’m not a professional, I’m an eyewitness – and this film is shot from an activist’s point of view,” Ed told Socialist Worker. “It gives a broad sweep of what people can expect to see if they visit Palestine today.”
