Love Music Hate Racism carnival coming in April

Issue No. 2083

This year sees the 30th anniversary of the legendary Anti Nazi League/Rock Against Racism carnival at Victoria Park that drew some 80,000 to performances from The Clash, The Tom Robinson Band, Steel Pulse and X‑Ray Spex.

The event has gone down in British musical history and marked a turning point in the battle against the fascist National Front, the forerunner to today’s British National Party (BNP).

Now Love Music Hate Racism and Unite Against Fascism have announced plans for a 30th anniversary carnival at Victoria Park to be held on Sunday 27 April.

It aims to raise awareness of the threat of the fascist BNP at this year’s London Assembly elections. Further details of the carnival will be released soon on the LMHR website.
