'We urge our supporters to be on the streets of Birmingham on 3 March. There is strength in numbers and we are determined to get our message against privatisation across to the government.'
That call for solidarity with the Dudley health strikers came from Dudley striker and joint UNISON union branch secretary Angela Thompson.
Angela is the prospective Socialist Alliance candidate for Dudley South, taking on local Labour MP Ian Pearson. The 600 Dudley strikers were set to begin their tenth round of strike action on Saturday against the handing over of their jobs to a private consortium.
The NHS trust is due to sign the transfer contract at the end of this month. It is vital every trade unionist and campaigner redoubles their efforts raising solidarity for the strikers.
