Defend Yunus Bakhsh

Issue No. 2085

The campaign against the victimisation of leading health trade unionist Yunus Bakhsh received a boost this week.

The PCS civil service workers’ union has donated £500 to the legal defence fund set up to help ensure Yunus has legal representation in his employment tribunal in March.

Collections are also taking place across the NHS trust where Yunus worked as a psychiatric nurse for the past 19 years.

Yunus was suspended from work in September 2006 after management had warned his Unison union that it would not tolerate his trade union activities. Collections in workplaces and the community must continue.
