Voting began in the elections for the national executive of the Unite union this week. The new executive will have 80 seats – 40 from the former Amicus union and 40 from the former T&G union.
Left candidates are standing in both sections of the union.
Key socialist activists standing for the Amicus section include Raymond Morell in Eastern and London, Gill George and Frank Wood in the health sector, and Andy Hanks in education, Ministry of Defence, government departments and the CMA. They are part of the Amicus Unity Gazette broad left grouping. The ballot runs until 28 March.
