Medway Trades Union Council fights climate change

Issue No. 2092

Members of Medway Trades Union Council in Kent have been inspired by a trade Union Conference to join the Campaign against Climate Change.

Medway council recently approved a plan to build Britain’s first coal-fired power station for 24 years, causing fury among environmental activists.

The issue of climate change has enormous implications in terms of social justice and global inequality and a key issue for trade unionists is that action to stop climate change is equitable and fair to everyone.

Medway Trades Union Council gives full support to the campaign and will hold a public meeting later in the year.
