The Iceberg

Issue No. 2093

Oliver Birch’s play tells the story of Lord Frederick Smith, a 19th century explorer ashamed of the barbarity of the British Empire.

He wants to discover something that Britain can be truly proud of. He sets sail for Antarctica, not to conquer but to find something beautiful – the perfect iceberg.

When parliament refuses to fund the trip, he is forced to cobble together his own diverse crew – with some unexpected results.

En Masse is known for producing exciting theatre for young audiences and this production will be ideal for kids over Easter.
