AROUND 100 people marched through Wellington in Telford, Shropshire, last Saturday. They were protesting against West Mercia police's failure to investigate properly the death of black man Errol McGowan, found hanged in July 1999.
A gang of white racists had been harassing Errol for months before his death. Clifton McGowan, Errol's brother, told supporters, 'Keep supporting us. Keep fighting with us.'
There is to be an inquest next spring into the death of Jason McGowan, Errol's nephew, who was also found hanged on New Year's Day last year. 'I will never stop fighting until I get the truth,' said Mrs McGowan, Errol's mother and Jason's grandmother.
