The victimised union reps: Suzanne Muna, Matthew Waterfall (charges dropped), Brian Debus, Glenn Kelly and Onay Kasab
Around 70 people came out to support four Unison branch officials – all members of the Socialist Party – who faced a disciplinary hearing today, Thursday, for issuing a leaflet at last year’s national Unison conference.
The leaflet criticised the number of motions from union branches that were ruled out of order at the conference.
The victimised union representatives are Suzanne Muna (housing corporation branch secretary), Matthew Waterfall (Hackney branch secretary) – who was originally charged but has now had the charges dropped, Brian Debus (Hackney branch chair), Glenn Kelly (NEC member and Bromley branch secretary) and Onay Kasab (Greenwich Branch secretary).
The group need to be strongly defend against the witch-hunt and the campaign for democracy in Unison must continue.
