Gorton Tub

LOCAL PEOPLE protested last week to show their anger at Manchester City Council's decision to close the popular swimming pool Gorton Tub. Campaigners went to the site of the £90 million Commonwealth Games stadium.

Over 60 adults and children took part in a peaceful protest which stopped the traffic three times on a nearby main road. At one point police were forced to redirect traffic. The stadium's main entrance was also blocked, causing mayhem.
