93 percent vote for health strike
Members of the Unite union at Arrowe Park and Clatterbridge hospitals have voted by 93 percent for industrial action after the Trust imposed changes from weekly to monthly pay.
Workers are now planning industrial action, including an overtime ban, from Monday next week, and a strike starting on the morning of Friday 25 July until midnight the following Saturday.
Bridlington unites against NHS cuts
Health workers in the Unite union in Bridlington, East Yorkshire, are set to join forces with local campaigners and the local Free Press newspaper to organise a protest this Saturday against the partial closure of their hospital.
Under health authority plans Bridlington hospital will lose its cardiac monitoring unit and acute medical admissions ward.

Sussex against academies
Parents against the plan to turn Kings Manor Community College in West Sussex into an academy held a public meeting on Monday of last week.
In the end the local authority and those in favour of the proposal boycotted the meeting, leaving only local opponents and speakers for the Anti Academies Alliance to put the case for opposing academy status.
The official consultation is due to start in September.
Council evict schools protest
Campaigners fighting plans for an academy have been evicted from Wembley Park Sports Ground, in North London.
The council want the site so they can put temporary classrooms there in time to open the new city academy in September.
A council committee gave builders permission to go ahead before final approval for the project as a whole had been given.
