Back the Eurostar cleaners in crucial pay battle

Issue No. 2115

The protest at St Pancras

The protest at St Pancras

Cleaners for the Eurostar trains in London are set to strike on Monday of next week after they voted 100 percent for action over pay. They work for the OCS contractor and get just £6.37 an hour.

A Eurostar cleaner said, “I am glad people protested at St Pancras in our support (see picture).

“OCS is a big company but the money is too small. Our RMT union is asking for the London living wage of £7.45 an hour, but management have offered us just 4 percent. They don’t want to lose profits.

“We have to provide many references and also don’t get sick pay.”
