Campaign against the deportation of Child M

Issue No. 2119

Child M (who can’t be named for legal reasons) is aged eight. He lives in Manchester with his mother, brother and sister.

They come from Iran and are threatened with deportation back there, despite the fact they would face persecution as members of the family are accused of circulating Salman Rushdie's book, The Satanic Verses.

Their asylum campaign has been refused and there have already been attempts to deport them – most recently locking-up the whole family in a detention centre for 51 days!

They have just been released but the campaign continues.
