Issue No. 2123

The People Before Profit Charter is continuing to win new supporters across the trade union movement.

The charter puts forward ten demands to improve the lives of working people in the face of economic turmoil.

The latest union branches to vote to add their name to the charter include Newham Unison, Wakefield trades council and Soas student union.

Supporters of the charter are set to host a meeting on the economic crisis in London this week.

Speakers include Jeremy Corbyn MP, Larry Elliott of the Guardian, NUJ deputy general secretary Michelle Stanistreet, bus driver Paul Brandon and Charlie Kimber.

The meeting will take place at 7pm, Thursday 16 October, Conway Hall, Red Lion Square, London WC1.
