Organising LGBT history month

Issue No. 2129

A packed pre-launch event for LGBT History Month was held in an east London school on Wednesday of last week.

LGBT History Month takes place in February. It raises awareness of issues that affect lesbian, gay, bisexual and transgender people, and their struggles against discrimination.

Speakers at last week’s event included education minister Baroness Morgan, Mark Jennett of the No Outsiders initiative for primary schools and Elly Barnes, who has pioneered the celebration of LGBT History Month in her school in Stoke Newington.
