Fighting job cuts in Salford

Around 100 workers and students protested on Wednesday of last week against proposed redundancies and cuts at Salford University.

Brendan Barber, the TUC general secretary – who had been invited to speak at the university annual business school lecture – and Ian Stewart MP spoke to the protesters in support of their fight. Workers from Salford council and Wythenshaw Hospital also showed solidarity.
