Fight for jobs at the Herald

Issue No. 2132

Management at Scotland’s Herald group of newspapers have told workers that all staff will be made redundant and told to reapply for their jobs – but there will be around 30 fewer positions available.

A Sunday Herald journalist told Socialist Worker, “This is an attack on an unprecedented scale.

“We need to hit the company where it hurts – in their profits. The public support for the strongest possible industrial action would be immense.”

Staff at the Herald have fought and won before.

They took three sets of strike action against mass redundancies last year and management backed down.
