Public meeting held on Herald crisis

More than 60 people attended a public meeting on the crisis at the Herald group of newspapers in Glasgow on Thursday of last week.

The owners, Newsquest, announced last month that 250 journalists would be made redundant and required to apply for 210 new posts. Meanwhile journalists at the Financial Times were set to hold a day of action on Thursday against 20 proposed compulsory redundancies on the paper.
